Summary

Prophets to the Southern Kingdom is Chuck's commentary on the books of Joel, Micah, Zephaniah, and Habakkuk. The Prophets to the Southern Kingdom spoke many promises of Israel's return to the land, Christ's second coming and the overall time line from Babylon all the way through the Millennium. In a time of great turmoil, these men focused on the hope of the coming Messiah and His Kingdom. The book of Joel is a neglected book among Bible scholars. It's an important book because it records Israel's place in God's program: from Babylon all the way through the Millennium. Micah's message was heeded, repentance followed, and disaster was postponed for a century. Here was a prophet that changed history! One man can make a difference. Both Zephaniah and Jeremiah prophesied to a politically prospering people of coming judgment. Habakkuk means to embrace. Habakkuk's main theme is God's consistency with Himself in view of permitted evil. Why do bad things happen to good people? 1:30.8	Okay. The minor prophet, Micah, and we're in Chapter 4. Now, as you probably noticed,
1:39.5	the first three chapters were admonitory, That is, they dealt with sins and the consequences
1:45.3	thereof. Chapter one dealt with sins against God himself. Chapter two, sins against each other.
1:53.0	And chapter three, sins by their leaders of Israel. We did that last time, sins of the leaders.
2:02.8	So this time we're in chapter four,
2:08.9	and we're going to undertake a glimpse of the coming kingdom. There's a change of pace occurring here. In other words, the first three were pretty heavy chapters. And you obviously
