Each week I will review one of Stephen King's works in the chronological order of publication.

Today we're going to discuss Stephen King's third novel, 1977's classic, The Shining.

This is now the third time, maybe fourth time that I've read The Shining.

It's the same edition that I've always read, and it just brings me back to that first time.

And it's just, it's interesting going back and reading this particular novel at different periods of my life, how I just, as I get older and I understand things a little bit more.

I just, I look at the novel differently.

I definitely looked at Jack Torrance a lot differently now.

And what's interesting to me is that I first read it

in between the summer of my sixth and seventh grade school school years and now as i record this i am older

than uh jack's age in the book which just wow it just really threw me off because when i'm a kid

he's an adult and you know he's a dad and you know i i just expect him to be just that that dad

age you know and then now i'm i'm older uh than him and i judged him a lot more than i had before
