Each week I'll review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King in the chronological order of publication.

If you've been listening to the last few weeks of reviews, you'll know that I've been analyzing what many point to as Stephen King's masterpiece,

his epic tale of good versus evil, order versus chaos set across the backdrop of the fall of America, The Stand.

This week, I'm going to be kicking off my review of the 1994 ABC television miniseries adaptation

of The Stand.

Now, here's my relationship with the miniseries.

I had read the novel, the previous summer, I believed, so I was pumped, poised, and ready

for this miniseries when it came out.

For me at that age, it was the equivalent of how I feel now every time there's an upcoming

Marvel movie, maybe even more.

This was me in my Prime King fandom. This movie was designed specifically for me. I remember

getting that TV guide issue with Rob Lowe and Laura San Jacomo on the cover and I couldn't

wait. The movie came out and I soaked up every episode,

taping each one on VHS.

Now, kids, before we had DVRs

and you could record whatever you wanted to

and hold on to it for as long as you wanted to

before it was available on Blu-ray or Netflix,

Amazon Prime, iTunes, or Hulu,
