Episode B47 Zenobia. Walk from the temple of Bell along the Grand Colonnade right down to the very end. There, near Western extent of Palmyra stands a striking

funerary temple. Greco Roman in style with Corinthian columns and decorative reliefs of grape vines and flowers.

Its interior features a stairway that descends to a crypt.

It's the only tomb ever discovered inside the walls of Palmyra, and it's likely it held

the body of King Odinothus. Giving her husband a fitting memorial was a pretty straightforward affair, at least

compared to trying to preserve his legacy. But now that Zenobia had made that choice, it's worth reflecting
