0:27.5	It's a big part of our kids' worlds, our worlds.
0:31.2	I was saying that I think it's now almost every third new parent consult that I'm doing,
0:41.0	sexuality and gender is somewhere in the discussion.
0:45.5	It's weird how it's flared up so quickly. And it's mostly in younger adolescents,
0:48.2	but it's still in older.
0:49.7	But I mean, between 13 to 15, it's really high.
0:55.2	Well, we even received an email this week from a listener who has a 14-year-old daughter
1:01.1	who doesn't want a label but is questioning her sexual identity.
1:05.9	And in light of that, they're considering putting her in a Christian school instead of the
1:09.2	public charter school that she's in, wanting the influence at school to more align with their family values versus what
1:16.2	public school agenda seems to be. And she had just listened to our episode 97 about
1:21.7	individuation. And so she says in response to her need for individuation, are we making a mistake
1:26.3	by trying to control her
1:27.5	environment versus trusting her to navigate high school? And this girl has said that she would rather
1:33.3	stay at public school with her friends instead of moving to this private school. So Dr. Ken,
