Well, good morning and welcome to our first service on Sunday morning.

Apologize for the late start.

Sunday mornings we have two services, the first of which is devoted to Bible prophecy, where

we do our weekly Bible prophecy updates.

And second service is the sermon, actually verse by verse study through the Word of God.

We're currently in the book of Hebrews.

Today's text is going to be chapter 12, verses 14 through 17. And we're going to look at the paramount importance of destroying bitterness before a

root of bitterness grows ultimately destroying us. I really encourage you to watch for those of you online, for those of you here

to join with us. I've been praying about and preparing all week for what I think is arguably

a very important teaching and certainly a very intense teaching dealing with this very delicate

matter of resentment and bitterness.

I'm going to just ask you to bear with me today.

For the update, I'm going to borrow from another well-known idiom, pulling the strings, which carries with it the idea

of someone behind the scenes controlling someone and or something.

As I've reflected on the last couple of years, it seems that this is what is happening behind

the scenes, this pulling the strings. It's exactly what is taking place in the world today.
