Joining us to see out this funny old year

is an Ivanovelo winning English singer-songwriter

who first came to prominence back in 2013

with a smash hit debut album, Long Way Down.

In June of this year he released its even more impressive follow-up,

wrong crowd, which saw him further refine his brand of powerfully emotive piano led pop. We're delighted to welcome the

excellent Tom O'Dell to the show. We had the great pleasure of meeting with Tom a few

weeks ago backstage at the Brixton Academy in London town. It was actually only

about an hour before he was due to take the

stage before a sold-out crowd so that was quite an interesting experience.

It was. We did the interview in Tom's dressing room and you could hear the hubbub of

the fans queuing outside the window and sense that kind of unique

frisson of anticipation that proceeds going to a gig. So yeah that was pretty cool and Tom himself was a very nice chap wasn't he?

He was indeed and it was incredibly

generous of him to give up some of his pre-show downtime to talk to us. You'll

hear our conversation in just a few minutes, but first we'll give you a bit of

background on our guest. Diehard fans may want to skip this bit, which is fine,

we're cool with that, totally fine.
