Hey folks, welcome to another episode of the Bible for Normal People.

And our topic today is the Bible and Women's Spirituality.

And our guest is Cheryl Bridges-Johnns.

She is the Robert E. Fisher Professor of Spiritual Renewal and Christian Formation

at Pentecostal Theological Seminary.

And that is in Cleveland, Tennessee.

I thought that Cleveland was only in Ohio.

No, man, all the things we learn, all the things we learn on this podcast, it's amazing.

Well, in all seriousness, it was pretty great talking to Cheryl and just hearing her experiences.

Someone who has been studying and involved in and participating sounds very active in

feminist theology, women's studies for quite a long time.

So I like to hear about her journey and all the things that she's learned about the Bible

and how to do theology in ways that are pretty creative and pretty new and I think really helpful.

And she's a serious theologian obviously.

Coming out of the Pentecostal movement and that history, which doesn't have the same kind of,

I guess, baggage we can call it, that a lot of evangelicals and fundamentalists have sort of taken for granted.

So it's really nice hearing Cheryl's perspective on a very important topic from a point of view

that maybe we don't hear all the time.

I think it's just a good conversation.
