Good evening and welcome to our midweek Bible study on Thursday nights we're going through the Bible,

book by book and chapter by chapter and verse by verse. And tonight we are in the book of Isaiah and one chapter tonight, chapter 40,

and only one chapter, and I think you'll see why here in a moment really looking forward to

this chapter. I know I said about all the chapters but in particular this chapter here

in the book of Isaiah. So why don't we pray if you would please join with me. We'll just ask

God to kind of settle us down and help us focus on His Word and that

which He has for us tonight. So let's pray. Father in Heaven, thank you so, so, so much for your

word. Oh, for us right now with everything that's happening in the world, this is

our lifeline. This is the word of life, the bread of life, the water of life. And Lord, we need

you, Lord, we need you. Lord, we need you. Lord tonight, would you, I got to believe, I got

to know, and Lord, you know that many of us will come to a Bible study like this on

a Thursday night and we bring

with us the the hassles, the pressures, the stresses, the man, just the issues, so much

is happening and it's just getting crazier by the day it seems even by the hour.

And so Lord, this is our hour with you where we can just put all that aside and be in your word.

And as we get into your word, your word gets into us and you speak into

our lives and you calm us and you settle us and you minister to us and oh Lord we just need

that so desperately tonight especially with this chapter that we have before us

tonight. So, Lord, thank you in advance for what you're going to do in our time together

in your word. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen and amen. All right. So we have before us tonight one of the most encouraging chapters in

all of scripture concerning those who are weak and weary. And by the way, weak and weary are not synonymous in terms. Weak describes
