Summary

The secret to peace is a Woman who is both little and sovereign. Your peace matters to her - she understands your sadnesses and aches, desires and longings... and so, through the power of her Son, she crushes the serpent's head. She never takes her gaze off of you.

In this episode, Sr. Marie Veritas, Sr. Mary Grace, and Sr. Ann Immaculée look at the First Reading of the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God: Numbers 6:22-27, and discuss the power of a mother's love, dispel misconceptions about Mary, and talk about how her purity makes her not distant, but actually closer to us.

And, as special New Year's gift to you, this episode includes a new Sisters of Life original song, "Song to Mary: Blessed Union". We hope it blesses you!

You are in our prayers this New Year's Day!

Stay tuned for Season 13, our Lenten podcast!

Cool. And we were just talking a little bit before this episode, you know, as you remember that today is the solemnity of Mary Mother of God, we were just, we were just remembering our own mothers and stories of their love. It's always a good time to remember them all the stories. Yeah. Yeah. And it's funny, we, you know, we get to talk to our families on the phone every once in a while. And I was on a phone call with my parents recently. And it was a very short phone call just to check in about something. And as soon as I get on the phone, like one of the first things my mom says,

2:00.0

I love my mom so much, she's like, how are you doing? I'm like, oh, you know, sharing a little bit. And then like later on in the phone call, it's like, wait, but how are you? And I'm like, okay, I think I just said that. And then I'm about to get out the phone. I'm like, okay, mom and dad, Like I think I need to go and it's like, wait, before you go, how are you?

2:00.8

I just need to know.

2:00.9

But it's like, wait, before you go, how are you? I just need to know.

2:35.9

But it's like such a beautiful image of a mother's heart is like they just, yeah, they see you, they see your heart and they want to know how you are. I mean, it's very simple, but just, yeah, it's such a beautiful expression of a mother's love and at love receiving it. Yeah, I don't know about you all. Oh my gosh. There's so much communicated just in the question of it. You know, whatever answer we say or don't say, the mother's heart stays on you. Yeah. So beautiful. Definitely. Yeah. It reminds me of a story of one of our priest's friends that when he would go home, whenever he'd go home to see his mom, he'd, you know, ring the doorbell or whatever. And then she'd come to the door and she would say, stop, let me look at you. And so he'd stand there and

just, she'd just look at him and look at him. And then he tried to go and she's like, not yet.

2:48.8

I'm not done looking at you. It's so sweet. Just want to look, gaze upon him, you know. And then he tried to go and she's like, not yet. I'm not done looking at you. It's so sweet.

Just want to look, gaze upon him, you know.

And then she'd eventually let him into the house.

2:55.8

Definitely.

2:56.2

But every time he'd go home.

2:57.5

It's amazing.
