Hello, welcome back to the Self-Helior Soundboard and thank you for tuning in with us.

0:10.9

We've been diving into some deeper workbook episodes where we've been pulling the content

0:17.1

and practices from our new workbook, How to Meet Yourself off the pages and out to the

0:22.9

world on this podcast or this video cast that you can watch on YouTube.

0:28.2

Most recently, episode 90, we began ego work. That episode is titled How to Do Ego Work.

0:36.0

Episode 92 is then all about shadow work and I referenced these last two because ego and shadow

0:45.6

both play a part in our episode today where those two episodes were pulled directly from the

checking out those episodes can be very, very helpful, but so we're all starting at the same point

1:46.6

here. Really simply, our ego can be thought of as the story of you based on an accumulation of all

1:55.7

of your childhood experiences, really all of your life experiences. Ego really becomes the narrative,

2:01.9

all of the different ways many of us have learned to think about ourselves. So we can think about the

2:07.7

ego as the story of me in many ways and then we can think about the shadow as all of the denied

2:15.0

or repressed, all of those aspects of ourself, our experiences, even aspects of who we are that

2:21.6

have been kept out of our own awareness again based on those earliest childhood environments. So
