I've got a very good friend of mine on the show Larry Smith from Larry Smith outdoors. It's a

fishing show in the Midwest. You probably seen it on your local Fox affiliate. Larry is a great guy

and I wanted to bring him on for a couple reasons. One, I remember a couple years ago the first

time I met him, he invited me out on a fishing trip and I said, can I bring my grandpa Bob

and he's like, yeah, yeah, bring him along and we went out on Lake Winnebago, we caught

walleye, we caught perch and it's just one of the happiest I had seen my grandpa Bob and

because that's his happy spot is when he's fishing perch, fishing walleye on Lake Winnebago and

they're actually biting and they were biting that day and we had a great time and another reason

just beyond that family connection is I always have been fascinated by the role of the outdoors

hosts in the Midwest in the South, they're prevalent actually really all around the U.S., but they're

very strong in the Midwest in the South and I think that they're important for a couple reasons.

One, it shows people how to fish and all that but it also brings this connection to outdoors

that I think is so strong and so important in these regions because our passion for fishing and

for hunting helps protect a lot of land that would otherwise go to development and all that sort

of stuff and it helps us focus on the environment, what's working, what is it and so I think that

this passion for outdoors and outdoor recreation just helps us kind of protect the environment.

That's my high level hippie reason for bringing Larry on and all that, but really it was just

great talking to him. We got some fishing tips in there. We've talked about how the environment

has changed over the years. I was just ice fishing with Larry and the ice used to come in

after Thanksgiving and now it's coming in later, it's going out sooner. Just seeing how the

environmental changes are impacting kind of outdoors activities in the Midwest, but Larry is a great
