Hello, sorry to bother you. Can I ask you a slightly odd question?

0:10.2

I'm making a podcast called Strangers on a bench, where essentially I talk to people I don't know on benches for 10 or 15 minutes.

0:19.6

Are you up for that? Do you want to give it a go? So you've already had two episodes.

0:50.6

You've met...

0:52.4

They were great.

0:53.6

One was about throwing the mobile in the pond.

0:56.5

That was the second one and the first one was the guy. He'd been to prison. Yeah. And that was

1:02.2

brilliant. So you're two down. I am. Many, many more to go. And here we are.

1:06.8

And here we are. That's so strange. Can we say where we are? We're allowed to say where we are?

1:11.6

Yeah, why not? We're in Lewis. On a bridge that I don't know the name of nor the river we're over. Do you know the name of the river? I should probably know that, but no, I can't remember. But it's a good spot? It's a lovely spot, yes, why I chose the bench. The reason I'm here is because I'm on jury service.

1:29.6

See that's the first. It's a lovely spot, yes, why I chose this bench. The reason I'm here is because I'm on

1:28.6

jury service. See, that's the first, 300 plus down. Not at anyone on jury service. Yeah. At that

1:35.0

moment. And I haven't been picked, so that's why I've got a moment to sit here and I brought my

1:39.7

workbook along and just come out and thought I'll have a moment. Not much of a moment. You've got another moment. Well, I had had a moment before so that's that's all right. Do you know what they'd pick? So people are not another? It's very, all random. So there's a certain amount of you that go in and then your names are all on cards and then they pick 12. Were you very excited to get the call? Get the call out? It was interesting. It's actually the second time. So I was surprised to get it, again, I suppose, in a way because you think, what are the chances? But it's just random. I've not had it once. No, and lots of people won't, will they? But, yeah. I should say something kind of come and get me plea to the, to the authorities. I don't know who was civic duty. Civic duty, absolutely. Funny word civic duty. I don't quite know what other things count as civil duty. No, what else comes under that? It's just kind of not committing a crime. It's just not pushing someone over on the street. We need it. You know what is it? What is it? Waving. We should look that up.

2:34.7

Yeah.

2:34.8

We should look it up and see what comes under civic duty, shouldn't we?

2:40.1

But it's one of those rare ones which is just like definitively due service is civic duty.

2:43.9

You know that, don't you?

2:45.3

Yeah.

2:45.5

Yeah. So you've listened to two of these programs. Do you remember how they start?

2:57.3

Yes, I think so. You ask about the favourite day of the week.

2:59.9

Yeah, there you go. I don't even need to be here. I'll show myself out. What would he ask next?
