0:16.8	We are going to start from what is possibly the simplest place, where I am simply going to ask you to say your names and what you're most known for.

0:32.4	I am Jerry Greenfield, and I am best known because my name comes second after Ben's.
0:50.1	We have a special treat for you today.
0:53.3	I'm sitting down with the founders of Ben and Jerry's
0:56.5	themselves, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield. We're going to cover a lot of ground today, including
1:02.6	how they opened their first ice cream shop in Burlington, Vermont, and how over time they started
1:08.6	to infuse the company with their values. But before we get into that,
1:13.4	this story begins in Long Island in 1963.
1:22.7	So the two of you have been best friends since middle school.
1:28.3	So I'll ask Ben first, what was Jerry like as a kid?
1:33.3	I mean, we met when we were in gym class together, running around the track.
1:40.3	We were the two slowest, fattest kids in the class.
1:49.3	And so we were at the back of the pack, quite a ways at the back of the pack.
1:51.3	I mean, we were not with the back.
1:52.8	We were behind.
1:56.1	And he was a great guy to be with back there.
1:59.1	Jerry, what was Ben like in middle school?
