In March 2025, UK government specialists said that viewing extreme online violence may be linked to the rise of something they are calling the ‘0 to 100 killers. People who go on to commit murder but have no prior convictions. There is no build up, no progression of violence that has a likely chance of being caught by the authorities, before the worst happens. Because the violence they are engaging in, is progressing in the digital world, in private, behind online identities. But for many, there comes a day, when the violent content they are interacting with online, becomes part of their real world.
