Summary

On today's episode, Dennis speaks with former San Bernardino County Deputy and OIS survivor, Meagan McCarthy.

Meagan's incident took place on Sept. 4th, 2019 in San Bernardino County. McCarthy was responding to a 911 call for a domestic disturbance. McCarthy rushed to the home and saw a man with "clenched fists" who came outside and then made a "bee-line" in her direction as she got out of her patrol vehicle. Behind him was his mother, with a knife in her hand and still on the phone with dispatch.

The events that unfolded after she arrived changed her life forever.

Today, Dennis and Meagan discuss her OIS in depth, her reaction to the not-guilty verdict of her attacker, the learning points and take aways from the incident, lack of training, putting in the time to prepare yourself for these situations, seeking help, the toxicity of social media and importance doing the training whether you want to our not because it could save your life.
