Summary
On today's episode, Dennis speaks with 6th degree Relson Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, Founder of Balance Studio and Co-founder of Tatsu Tea, Phil Migliarese.
The Migliarese brothers come from four generations of family boxing. In 1988, Phil Migliarese discovered Gracie Brazilian jiu jitsu, a virtually unknown style of grappling, that would soon transform martial arts forever.
This was before the Ultimate Fighting Championship showcased the effectiveness of jiu jitsu to the world. It was also before the Gracie family, many generations of whom had revolutionized the Japanese form of jiu jitsu since the beginning of the 20th century, went on to become the legendary pantheon of fighters they are today. Those are the people Phil trained with. He went directly to the source.
The Migliarese Brothers are the founders of Balance Studios and have over 30 years of experience in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Boxing. They are considered extended family of the Gracie’s and renowned expert instructors.
Today, Dennis and Phil discuss his legacy, the BJJ world, becoming a business owner, importance of branding and authenticity, building a purpose, advice for young business owners and having purpose with everything you do.
