So Jim Garrity's stunning event over the weekend.

We have the White House Correspondents dinner,

which, for better or worse, has become a Washington institution over the decades.

Everyone schmoozes, at least for one night.

They're in cocktail dresses and tuxedos, and we have everyone ducking beneath their tables.

The dais is evacuated.

You have guys in camo with very serious firepower walking on to stage, pointing their weapons,

towards the back of the room. It turns out

there was an anti-Trump fanatic who was armed with multiple guns and knives attempted to

storm into the ballroom. He gets barely beyond a security checkpoint before he falls or subdued and or both.

But there are gunshots.

No one knows what's going on.

And this was yet another attempt on Donald Trump's life, much less serious, thank God,

than the one at Butler, Pennsylvania.

What do you make of it?

So, Rich, I notice you characterize the would-be shooter as an anti-Trump fanatic.

I think you'll look at the shooter's manifesto sent to family members shortly before he attempted to commit the shooting.

Apparently, a family member did reach out to the cops shortly thereafter, which is a good sign.

It was moot because he'd already been captured by the U.S. Secret Service, but, you know, at least someone recognized it and did something about it.
