1:02.0	Mexico. And Roger is a visiting fellow at AEI so he's a colleague of mine but he
1:07.5	also has a very long resume of jobs in various administrations working for
1:15.2	on basically issues related to South America, Central America, Cuba and of
1:23.2	course the topic is your Venezuela. So just curiosity, first of all welcome.
1:28.5	Thank you for coming on. Thank you my pleasure. You're grooving Kansas, right?
1:31.4	Yes, what you talk Kansas. Yeah. Which everybody just immediately associates with
1:36.2	Latin American issues. Absolutely. How did you, what is the path that got you
1:42.2	into all this stuff? Well, my grant, actually, my great-grandparents on my
1:47.2	father's side came to Kansas building the railroad, a lot of Mexican immigrants.
1:52.2	And so I actually did not learn Spanish in the household though. In Kansas my
1:59.3	parents were both born there too. And was interested mostly in politics in
2:06.0	general for policy kind of fascinated me. Went to a small school in Kansas but
2:10.5	my eye was on Washington in turn here in 1979 came out in 83 with a member of
2:18.5	Congress from Kansas and immediately gravitated to the Central American wars.
