We're here and I'm excited because today is like, it's the episode. It's the episode because

we're starting our talk on the Scream franchise and this has been long anticipated.

This has probably been the most

requested episode that I've gotten. And what better time to start this than on my birthday?

Because I'm actually filming this super in advance because I'm away for like the week of my

birthday. So I'm starting to film this on what day is it today? Thursday the 10th. And I'm going to

probably film it over the course of a few days because this is going to be a doozy of a fucking episode, because we're talking about four movies here. And you guys know I could yap on for fucking 17 years about scream, of course. So by the time you guys actually hear this episode, it will be Wednesday, April 16th, which is indeed my 30th birthday. I will be in California, so I will not be here,

here as in where I'm sitting in my fucking living room at my dining room table.

But I wanted to make sure I got this episode out on the 16th because it just seems wildly

appropriate that the namesake of this podcast, not my namesake, unfortunately, because I was

born the year before a scream came out.

I do like to think my parents just somehow knew that this name was going to be significant.

But I felt it was only right to release the first episode of scream on my birthday. I just felt

like that was right. Like the universe made my birthday a Wednesday this year so I could release

my scream episode or at least the first scream episode on said day. So here we are. Since I literally just filmed an episode a couple days ago, I don't really have an update on any movies that I've watched or anything. I don't know if I talked to you guys about Dead Talent Society. Did I talk to you about that already? Sorry if I did. I'm going to talk to you about it again honestly, it's that fucking good. I still need to do a full review to put on TikTok. I'm like so behind with everything right now with all my travel shit. I'm frazzled. But Dead Talent Society, I believe it's Japanese, Chinese. Actually, I think it's in Mandarin, so I believe it's Chinese. Okay, it's a Taiwanese horror comedy. So it is in Mandarin, so it is subtitle, but it's on Netflix. And it just recently hit Netflix. This is one that was at what fucking festival? Fantastic Fest last year. I didn't get to see it, but my friends who saw it thought it was fucking phenomenal and they've been waiting for it to come out. And I finally got to see it. And I understand why. This might be one of

my favorite movies that I've seen this year so far. It's so fun. It's so silly. And it's weirdly like also so wholesome. It's essentially about like how in the afterlife, it kind of just pokes fun at the whole like Asian ghost story thing that all these horror movies do. Because it's basically like after you die, you go to the

afterlife and you can become a ghost. Like you have to get registered and get like a license to

like scare people and become a ghost so that you can be remembered. And like if you don't get

remembered, if your family and stuff starts to forget you, you kind of disappear. So a lot of

people want to become ghosts so they can live on forever. And somebody
