Good morning and welcome to another exciting edition of BTO Bass Talk Live where we are going to talk about Bass Fishing.

It is officially Derby Season folks.

All sorts of tournaments kicking off across the country in the next two to ten days and all sorts of Derby's that took place this past weekend.

We will get into all of that. We have a laundry list of things. Guys, it's season. It's the season. It's here. It is upon us.

The boats are wrapped. The guys are, well, everybody's headed to Florida.

Unless you're just fishing the opens and then you're headed to Alabama in a couple of weeks.

But the mega of the Bass Fishing world is currently happening in Florida.

And out at Havasu, we'll talk a little bit about that. And we will talk about that with one of my favorite guests that we got on during last season a couple of times had a great feedback from the BTO listeners and viewers.

The one and only Mr. Pete Robbins, outdoor rider, a globe trotter, fishing, a fishy and notto and industry insider. How's that for a title Pete?

That's pretty awesome, Matt. I always feel like an imposter when I come on the show. You have on Mercer and you have on Tommy Biffle and then you have on regular old Pete sitting in his office chair.

Well, you're not, you're not regular old Pete. You're Pete Robbins, man.

I mean, you've been an interesting standard. I was thinking, did we talk about this last time? I don't think we did.

Where do you think the written word is going in the outdoor industry?

We did talk about that. And literally clearly, and I hate to say this because I write for a lot of magazines. I feel like magazines writ large are going away.

But the written word, I have more work than ever before. It's just taking different forms, you know.

I don't know that the 10,000 word thought piece is ever going to come back in the best fishing world if it ever existed.

But I do feel like 100 word pieces, 500 word pieces, 1000 word pieces are still out there. They may just take different forms, whether it's social media or editorial content.
