around sort of best we can do yeah but we are still around the horrid halls I'm Alex

West with Andrea Subasati and it is another month of self isolating and taking

care of each other from afar. We thought we would kick off

summer of plague is what we've been calling it. I like it. We tweeted that we were

going to do this. I mean obviously we announced it at the end of last episode,

but we also tweeted and there was a couple of responses

that were like, you know, I'm kind of inundated

with plague and pandemic stuff and it might be a bit too soon for me it might be a bit much and I totally

get that I totally respect it and I mean we're keeping things really

positive my observations from these films that we're going to talk about and how they inform the current situation are largely positive.

But yeah, I think everyone should be doing everything they can to take care of themselves, whatever that looks like.

And if it means you have to listen to this episode a little later, you do you?

Yeah, it's always a kind of tricky thing about how timely do we make these episodes.

And it just kind of feels like we spend so much time thinking about the end of the world as horror fans and

death and destruction and the downfall of society that to not kind of do something in

real time would be I don't know a bit amiss so we're going to take you through some different stages of

plague so today's episode is going to kick off with infection then we're

going to move on to a film self isolating and quarantine and then

finally we're going to move on to films that talk about air quotes a cure or at

least a rebuilding a restoration type thing.
