Hey everybody, welcome to the You Were Born for this podcast with Father John Ricardo.

It's me. I'm your host, the executive director of Acts 29, where we talk about anything and everything

that's related to transforming parishes in the church. And as always, I'm here with my co-host,

Nick and Mary.

Good to see you guys again. Nick, what's our topic today? Padre, we have a great topic, I think,

right? Because it's from the Holy Spirit we pray. It's an examination of conscience for mission.

So here we are in the middle of breaking open our white paper titled Reimagining what a Catholic parish can be, a destination for the 21st century.

And as I say that, like I do every episode lately, it feels redundant, but I want to speak to myself for other's sake.

This is so important to continue to remind us where we're at because we might have a new listener, right?

So we've looked at why we need to reimagine parishes in these last few podcasts from the

perspective of clergy, those who serve with them, and the people in the pews.

But now we want to look at why we need to do this so as to reach out to both the fallen away

and the nuns, right?

Because after all, the church exists for the sake of those who don't belong to her.

So until Jesus returns in glory, mission is the essence of the church.

We say it this way because once Jesus returns, there won't be any need for mission work anymore.

That's right.

All we're going to do is worship God.

That sounds fantastic.

And live the abundance of life.

That sounds glorious.
