mother in Saint Alexander Quebec. I hope I pronounced that correctly. And then 10 years later in 1874, about 35 miles south in St. Elb and Vermont,

20-year-old school teacher Maria de Ball was murdered, raped and mutilated like Minnie had been, and there were suspects but not enough evidence to convict anybody.

Exactly. And so this is the second half of that story and this takes place in Pembroke, New Hampshire, which is a small thriving town in 1875 with a population of about 2,500.
