On this episode of Newt's World, Clistenia recently visited South Korea and a really rapid trip which

included visiting the capital soul going up to the demilitarized zone and visiting the 5G

developments at Samsung. It was just a remarkable reminder of what a miracle modern South Korea has

become. I felt that in part because my dad served there in 1953 during the war and then went back

later and served in the late 60s and to see the poverty, the pain, the destruction of the South

Korea he served in in 1953 and this gigantic city of 10 million, the fourth largest metropolitan area

in the world. The soul today is like a modern miracle. Partly a testimony to the South Korean people,

partly a testimony to the patience and commitment of the United States and the soul of metropolitan

area has over 25 million people, about half the population of South Korea. It's fascinating and I

thought worth talking about the Korean peninsula, the whole peninsula because of some of the contrasts

between North and South. We're very fortunate to have Dr. Stephen Norper who's with us today and

who's a real expert on this topic and is going to help us have a much better sense of understanding

before we get into Korea, Steve, would you sort of give us a little bit of an introduction?
