This is Betsy Bell at the Double B Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I have a show for you today with a brief warning up front.

I wanted to do something different than what I'm used to doing,

and I love throwing a lot of snark at you and a lot of humor so that we can get through the day with a laugh or two. But this time I chose a subject

and it can't really work if I try the snark bit. It's just not going to go over very well

because it is a serious subject, but it's one that I feel has to be taken on.

I have felt this for a long time, and I haven't been able to express it to you in a way that

you could understand it. So now I figured that out, so this is how can this happen with a new take on a piece of old history.

The name of the show is Night of the Broken Glass. And the first part of it is started by the regime. Part two is called the truth, and part

three is, is it the end or the beginning? The violence that was instigated primarily by the Nazi party officials and members of the SA.

Vam Rath.

Vam Rath was a German embassy official stationed in Paris.

Herschel Grinspan, a 17-year-old Polish Jew, had shot the diplomat on November 7, 1938.

A few days earlier, German authorities had expelled thousands of Jews of Polish citizenship that were living in Germany

from the Reich, the Third Reich, if you will.

So Greenspan had received news that his parents' residents in Germany since 1911 were among them.
