That's when I say my name. I'm Chad Fyfer. There you go. You would think that

we've done like 80 of these now that we'd be better at this.

Yeah, we're not.

We've learned nothing.

Well, what are we talking about here on the show today?

We're covering the second part of At the Mountains of Madness

and it's one of Lovecraftcraft's best known works and biggest.

And we've barely scratched the surface here.

I mean what we talked about in the last episode was that this group of scientists from

Miss Katonic University put together an expedition.

They went out to Antarctica just to bore into the glaciers and get some soil samples and

just learn about a part of the world that at that time in history people didn't,

they didn't know very much about.

You know, we had explorers.

A lot of these guys were big inspirations for

Lovecraft when he was writing the story, Naval, Admiral, Richard, Evelyn, Bird.

He was an aviator and he's a navigator. I mean this guys like this in Shackleton you know these guys that went out there and

exactly and and said hey this is a part of the world that we don't know anything

about way down there on the southern cap of the planet and and we're gonna take the

risk and we're gonna it is very risky to do this right?
