Empire. If you didn't know by now, my name is Chad. And every single week, we take a journey

back into time and we reminisce about the new generation era of the World Wrestling Federation.

This week, no different.

We're going to get into part two of the commentators, hosts, and announcers of the new generation era.

And when looking to see who could fit in the chair for this episode,

I had to find somebody who's just as fine behind the mic as somebody, let's say, a Todd Pettengill. He is the one and only the great Mike Durbin of the Mike Durbin show. Thanks for joining me tonight, Mike. Thanks for having me, Chad. You're on my show a lot, get my go. So it's an honor for me to be on your show. So thank you so much. It's kind of funny. In succession, I think we're like three consecutive shows. You're on Francine and then I was on Get My Go and now you're on this. So we're kind of filling out the calendar, which is kind of funny. But I, you know, it worked out great. But yeah, I've been obviously, I've talked about get my go a million times. Love it. Love being on your show.

It's a ton of fun. Always good to have a laugh or two or like 65, depending on which episode we're doing. Sometimes you want to pull your hair out, but that's why I wear a hat. So I don't have to do that. But appreciate you coming on tonight, man man. We're going to talk about commentators, host, and announcers of the new generation era. The first thing you say to me is basically the same thing that everybody says to me when I ask them to come on is they kind of tapped out during this era. They weren't really watching. And to me, that almost wipes the slate clean of what I want to talk about because I want to know why. Jare, you're a wrestling fan. You go back a long way. Why during this era did you kind of tap out of pro wrestling? So I started watching wrestling probably after WrestleMania 2. I think one of the first memories I have. I don't know if it's the first thing I ever saw, but I used to, or I was at my grandma's house. We slept over there, me and my brother, maybe my parents were at a wedding or something. But I remember on her kitchen table, we had a black and white TV, and I watched Saturday night's main event. And it was the Orndorf and Hogan match. And I think that's what I watched. Yeah, yeah. That's my first show I ever watched. Oh, wow. How about that? I watched the month before. That's the first one I remember,

but the first show I saw was the previous month. The first one I watched as it basically just aired

was the Hogan-Orendorf cage match. Look at that. Wow. Yeah, it was, I don't know, I wish I knew aired was the Hogan Orndorf cage mask look at that wow yeah it was um i don't know

i wish i knew that was the first thing i ever saw but i can't even tell my memory is not that good

so uh but i do remember watching that's when i started watching and then i next thing i know my dad

a friend of his at work he would get the pay-per-views and I saw

WrestleMania 3 and then I saw 4 and 5 at this guy's house I think we saw a few

summer slams in between and so that's when I started right right around between

WrestleMania 2 and 3 huge fan it was the most important thing to me when I was a kid.

Until about, hmm, the Sergeant Slaughter Hogan, WrestleMania, was that seven?

Seven.

So that's 91.
