we're broadcasting live from the Tides Restaurant in Bodega Bay discussing the 1963 horror classic, The Birds. This film was directed by Alfred Hitchcock from a screenplay by Evan Hunter,

loosely based on the novella of the same name by Daphne de Morier. The Birds combines elements of dark comedy,

romance, and horror, which are married seamlessly through Hitchcock's skilled direction.

With a fantastic cast of characters, impressive special effects for the time, and a bevy

of interpretations regarding its social commentary, the Birds has exceeded its initially

mixed critical reception to become widely considered

a cinematic classic.
