My advice usually is shoot the first thing that's legal in front of you on your first hunt as a learning experience

Because the packout you're gonna learn a lot from that packout probably as much as you learned

From the rest of the entire experience

What is that an oxymoron you bought a bunch of stuff to go hunting

But you can't afford to go hunting get the gear the best you can afford

But if you've got a hunt and somewhat crappy gear for the first couple years

It's good for the soul it builds character to go suck it up
