Sue the Sadie and we were back for another month to talk about a very divisive film.

It is, isn't it? I think so. People have a very strong reaction one way or the other to this film and that is

Frank Daribont's The Mist.

Yes, we're going to demystify it I dare say.

I feel like most of the divisiveness has to do with the ending though.

Yes. Like I haven't heard many people just pan it outright that it sucked

throughout. Yeah but I also think the film would not have the resonance it has within the horror genre within the film community if it didn't have that ending.

I agree.

Now, Stephen King plays very early on in my horror education development maturity coming of age however you want to put it. I went through his novels like Oxygen when I was a teenager. I specifically

remember that it was kind of above my my allowance grade. I was like in grade

eight or something and this was only for the seniors and I had to bring in a note from

my mom saying that I was allowed to take out

adult books from the library. I know how cool was that. That's like the most used story I've ever heard.

Anyway so this story came to me from, I first read it in Skeleton Crew, which is an anthology

published in 1986 along with the raft, which would become a segment in Creep Show 2.

You did not.

I really enjoy that short story and I enjoy it's a film-making counterpart as well well but I guess that's for another day.
