Yep, that's right. To begin our COVID series, we were lucky enough to have the expertise of Dr. Carlos de Rio to describe the landscape of this pandemic.

Then we had the great fortune of being joined by Dr. Zrupa and Dr. Monty, who took us to the heart

of the pandemic in Milan, Italy, and shared their experience and expertise with us.

Today, we zoom in from these bird's eye views that we've taken the past three episodes

and focus on a single patient.

With the help of three extraordinary guests, we'll walk you through the story of a single patient

from the moment the symptoms begin.

All right, let me introduce our first guest.

Dr. Anita Tucker is a pulmonary critical care physician and health disparities researcher

at UCSF.

Her main research interests are in understanding how the social environment

contributes to disease and modifies disease course in low-income communities and communities

of color. Dr. Tucker's experience as a clinician and medical director of the Zuckerberg

San Francisco General Hospital's Chess Clinic gives her firsthand insight into how social

environmental stress negatively affects asthma and other health

outcomes and practical knowledge of the existing barriers to adoption of evidence-based interventions

into practice. With the evolving COVID-19 epidemic, her research focus has shifted to better

understanding the fears, needs, and socioeconomic impact in low-income diverse communities. And it's my great pleasure to introduce the one and only Dr. Peter Chen Hong,

who's an associate dean for regional campuses at UCSF School of Medicine.
