auto tariffs. There's been a lot of back and forth about tariffs in the initial months here

when Trump was talking about the 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada. He said he was going to exempt

the auto makers.

Those big tariffs on Mexico and Canada are still in abeyance.

But now Trump is specifically targeting the automakers.

The AUW likes this, but the automakers not so much.

What do you make of it?

Well, I mean, like other Trump tariffs, I'm curious how long they're going to last and what exceptions are going to be added to them.

He has talked about them in, you know, different terms, in terms of, of changing the distribution

of investment in the auto industry and putting more of it back into the United States,

which would require moving, you know, not just

consumption towards more American vehicles, but, you know, more production of them, and then

more production of parts that go into them into the United States over time. I don't know if

this tariff has the staying power to do that.
