Well, hello and welcome to the starting zone, the podcast about World of Warcraft and people who play it. Today is February 6th, 2026, and my name is Spencer Downey. Thanks so much for listening and subscribing to the podcast. I am joined as always by my co-host, Jason Lucas. Jason, we are only two hours away from a bean February 7th. Here we are. It's Friday. It's 10.30. It's time to party. That's right. It's not quite 10.30. And if you're old enough to know what that is, then make sure you take your medicine before you get a bed tonight. But yeah, we're here. It's a Friday, which is a bit weird. I was hoping we'd have a little bit more blue text from Blizzard before we got rolling tonight. It's actually's actually a patch eve type of situation if you can believe that we do have a patch

come in and we got a holiday starting up on Monday so unfortunately didn't make it for press time

this week and also just a disclaimer at the top of the show I had a little dental work yesterday

and by a little I mean a lot.

Jason is here. Jason is here on the back of a root canal, all right? That is how much he,

that is how much this show is important to us to do for our listeners. For the love of the game.

For the love of the game. Yeah. So I, you know, if now I'm actually feeling pretty good,

it's best I felt in the entire day.

So if I start slipping, if stuff starts sounding funny, or if I just kind of give Spencer the high sign and he talks for the rest of the show, then you know why.

When it comes to this past week in World of Warcraft, though, oh my goodness, this has been,

well, let's just say it started off with a bang.

But before we talk about the bang, I'll just mention, just so people know, my raid stuff the last week was literally full, like a fast clear, and then a couple

sales for gold. And then it was done. It was the same routine. There was nothing super special.
