Summary

Episode 714 | Progressive Foreign Policy Questions.

We need to be able to offer a coherent and complete Progressive foreign policy that goes beyond analyses that end at "end America empire." While we all absolutely agree that American intervention and imperialists pursuits across the globe have been catastrophic--- if we take America completely out of the equation, there are still questions that we must answer to form a coherent progressive foreign policy.

Tonight is the Democratic debate! Initially, I wanted Warren and Sanders to not touch each other. However, Warren released her health care plan and it includes private insurers. This is not Medicare for All and I think tonight we need to be able to show the nation why this distinction matters.

0:35.0	That is something that we can use, that we can leverage, that we can wield inside of the current power structure as a means of changing the current power structure.

0:57.6	through this current American system and right nowC. is inundate with dozens, if not hundreds of think tanks and lobbyists who are all forwarding the same foreign policy of neo-conservatism, more precisely defined as
1:19.3	neo-realism, real politic, brute force.
1:25.0	The foreign policy that will gladly undermine a dictator or a democracy and then install
1:32.0	a dictator.
1:34.0	The foreign policy that shoots first
1:36.0	and then asks questions later and laugh about them
1:38.6	at the White House Correspondents' dinner
1:41.6	when they don't find weapons of mass destruction.
1:45.2	That's the foreign policy that Washington DC is inundated with through hundreds of
1:50.0	think tanks, hundreds and thousands of lobbyists, and billions upon billions of dollars in funding
1:58.9	to forward that singular type of idea and concept, that framework.
2:05.0	And what we have on the left generally can be summarized is this.
2:09.0	This is our foreign policy.
