welcome to hot takes i'm congressman mad gates if we sound a little bit

different today it's because i'm traveling on the move following florida's

primary election here got some meetings in washington dc will get back to

our normal equipment and our normal sound quality very soon

let's talk about the news and the news from florida's first congressional

district is that republicans have

voted for me to the tune of eighty one percent

in last night's election to represent our party on the november general election

ballot

and uh... i've been in a few competitive republican primaries before

for congress and for the state legislature and

i have never gotten eighty one percent of the republican vote

and so this is really a high watermark for me

very appreciative to my constituents

and i'm appreciative to the democrats and independence that came out and

voted as well

because participating in our democracy is something we should never take for
