Hello everyone. Welcome to the official Outlander podcast.

I'm Matt Roberts and also a writer and executive producer on the show.

You can see we start out in the 80s. We knew we were going to do different time periods this season. And one of the things, one of the things that we needed to be able to do is show the audience,

just visually where we are.

So, where we are. So, got together with Mike Gunn, who's the production designer and we discussed how we can do this, how we can maintain shooting

and utilizing all our stage space, utilizing the practical set set which is out is called Mid Hope Castle and this is

is, uh, this is, uh, This is on our stages.

So this part of the of the set is on our stages where where they arrived is at Midho castle.

Mike came up with this caravan out front and we decided that it was a distinctive look and it also gave.

It just works.

And it also gave us another set to shoot in because we shoot into the interiors of that caravan. What us Americans might call a trailer, it's called the caravan in the UK, so it kind of sounds a little better.

Anyway, that was one of the big troublesome or challenges of this particular season, especially because the season lasts so long,

and we know we were going to be shooting,

you know, in and out of the 80s.

And we use a lot of times around mid-hop, there's areas around mid-hop that we utilize for other scenes. And an example is there's a little down the driveway.

There is a duket down there that we've used in multiple episodes. There is a little stream further down and we've used that multiple times in and around so we can so in that scene where you saw Brianna and Roger talking in the in

the door yard is what we call that. We can do another scene.

It is.

It is how we kind of juggle locations and sets and and managing space.

So there are different places that we utilize, so this is actually not next to MidHope.

But, um, But there is a little section near mid-hop that we've used for other scenes.

This is a little fun scene.
