Hello and welcome back to another episode of the feminist Mormon housewife podcast.

I'm your host, Lindsay, bringing another episode in the Year of Puggany series, where we try to understand and untangle the interesting and complicated

practice of Mormon plural marriage. Today I'm really excited to talk about two women in particular

that have really different experiences, but I think illustrate an important time in Mormon polygamy,

the time of the federal legislation and prosecutions,

or persecutions if you're a Mormon.

This is an interesting time in Mormonism

because it really sort of has this old flavor,

Latter-day Saint persecution complex with it, you know, us against the world,

us against the government. And it also has this sort of new fusion of things that you'll see in

Mormon fundamentalism. It's also a critical turning point in the LDS Church's history. So it's a really important time to talk

about. I'm going to be talking about two women from very different backgrounds and hopefully tell
