Hey, everybody. Thanks for joining me today on the Heaven in Your Home podcast. I'm Francie Winslow. And today we're going to talk about why I love my husband's sex drive.

0:14.8

Kind of a silly little quote to say, I love my husband's sex drive, but honestly with the amount of women that I've talked to

0:21.5

who have experienced a different side of sex, a different perspective of sex, I want to unpack

0:27.2

this so that maybe together we can think differently about sex and hopefully enjoy the gift

0:32.9

of a sex drive, whether it's the husband's sex drive or the wife's sex drive, to celebrate

0:36.6

it as a good gift from God.

0:38.7

Before we jump into that, I'm going to say a word of prayer. And if you don't mind, just open your

0:44.2

heart to the Lord with me. Father, thank you for the opportunity to know you in this place.

0:50.2

We pray, Father, that you would rewire our thinking, rewire our understanding of this gift of sex

0:56.4

and help us to see our bodies and our marriages and the calling that's on our marriages from your

1:02.9

perspective. In Jesus' name, amen.

1:10.5

Okay, friends. So why I love my husband's sex drive? I wrote a post about this years ago

1:16.5

because I was hearing so often women talk about how sex felt more like a duty or more like a burden.

1:24.8

And I really had begun to see things a little bit of a different, in a different

1:29.3

light. It wasn't always that way. I grew up as a pretty conservative church girl in the

1:35.9

South. I really loved the Lord and I wanted to live for him. And I wanted every part of my life to

1:40.3

really be filled with him. But when it came to sex, the main thing that I heard over and over again

1:46.2

was just don't do it, don't do it, don't do it. It was the abstinence movement, which is a great

1:50.3

blessing when it's time to be abstinent. But the missing factor on that was a more thorough

1:56.4

and whole way to see sex. So by the time I was able to have sex in marriage and it was the right

2:01.9

thing to do, that was the thing I was supposed to do, I'd been told, don't do it, don't do it,

2:05.5

don't do it for so long. But I didn't know how to do it. Even more importantly, I didn't
