Lynette Dawson was reported missing by her husband, former Newtown Jets,

rugby league star Chris Dawson.

I said I was going to get a hitman to kill Lynne,

and he rang me and said Lynne scorned shoes at comeback.

I just want justice, and I'd love her little girls to know she didn't leave them.

When did you last see him, Leslie?

At his home in Bellevue, and it was unnerving to me, I was suspicious even then.

Even back then I felt so uncomfortable going up there that I had a really, really horrible

feeling at the house. I remember him coming down the front stairs,

introducing us to Joanne, and at that time myself and another wife.

Both saw the ring she was wearing, and we both felt very much like men's rings.

Leslie Cox is recounting the day she and her husband, John, met their friend,

Chris Dawson's new young partner, Joanne, in the house Lynne had loved.

The house filled with Lynne's tapestries and other wall hangings,

and matching cushions and knick-knacks as Lynne's daughters ran in and out on a hot day.

Years earlier, when John had played a lot of his rugby with Chris and Paul Dawson,

at least in suburbs, the men and their wives got to know each other.

Up to a point.

He was adored by everybody physically. He turned their head in the club.
