Welcome to Episode 7 of Real Cool History for Kids.

I'm so excited to tell you today's story because, well, honestly, it's one of my very favorite stories of all times have you ever had a really weird

dream that made you wake up and wonder what in the world why did i dream that dreams are pretty

strange aren't they most of the time they're a result of the a jumble of thoughts we've had rolling

around in our heads before we go to sleep. And they actually can

even be affected by what we eat before bedtime. They really don't mean anything and they don't

even make sense. But throughout history, God has used dreams to speak to people. It doesn't happen

all of the time in every dream, but it does happen sometimes to certain people.

There are many stories in the Bible that tell about instances where God spoke to someone in a dream.

We're told in Genesis 28 about how God showed Jacob, the grandson of Abraham, a ladder that was coming down from heaven.

The latter had angels going up and down on it.

In another account in the Bible, God actually sent one of his angels to speak to someone

in their sleep.

An angel appeared to Joseph, Jesus' earthly father, on a, well, and at least a couple of occasions

that we know of, one to assure him and one time

to warn him about something. God gave Pharaoh a dream warning about the coming seven-year famine

that would come to Egypt, and he used Joseph to interpret that dream and save the land from

devastation of that drought. In our story today, God used a young

man to tell the meaning of a dream that God had given a mighty king. But before I tell you that story
