pondering what kind of life he would have, were it not for his blazing eyes.

Perhaps he would be attending college somewhere.

Perhaps he would have a girlfriend.

But then, there is a chance he could have both, even now.

This bench he sits on, these grounds. "'This is a school after all.

"'And Jean, perhaps.

"'He wonders this as he sits alone

"'in the large gardens of the Xavier Institute,

"'watching as Jean runs and plays catch with Bobby and Hank,

"'wondering what this hypothetical world would be like.

How old are they? Twelve?

Warren sits on the stone steps of the mansion next to the pensive lad,

looking out over the garden and the antics of the others.

They're just having fun, Warren. Cut him some slack.
