Hi friends, welcome to the That Sounds Fun Podcast. I am your host Annie F. Downs. This

is episode seven of the podcast, which is really exciting because it's my favorite number.

And that's very apropos because I'm getting to introduce you to one of my very, very favorite

people, Connor Harrell. I met Connor a couple of years ago when he was a Vanderbilt University

student and I was volunteering with our church's college ministry. And he was a baseball player.

And I began to just be friends with him and some of the other guys. And over the last couple

of years, he has just become one of my very best friends, like my little brother. I just

love him to pieces. A couple of weeks ago, we sat down and I just asked him about the life

now of a professional baseball player. He was drafted two years ago in 2013 and has been

playing professional baseball since then. And I have just learned so, so many things that

I did not know about the life of a professional baseball player, about professional sports, about

the minor league system, the major league system that I thought would be interesting to you.

So Connor and I sat down. Now I'm feeling a little teary today because he's been gone for

a few weeks. They're all down at spring training. And so it's just sad and hard when your friends

leave, right? So, but I'm so excited for you guys to hear these couple of minutes of chatting

with Connor about what it's like. And we got to some really interesting places in the conversation.

And I learned things I didn't already know, particularly about some of his superstitions,

which is crazy, but also like what's it like to have faith in a professional athlete life?

And how do you pursue your relationship with God when you are on the road and to the degree

that a minor league baseball player is? So I thought, I would love to sit down and introduce him to
