This time I would like to recommend Jeff Sharrah's first novel in his World War Two series, The Rising Tide.

What's great about this book is its intimate level when dealing with all the well-known but also more obscure characters.

The research is amazing and the writing is fantastic, but honestly the reader takes all this to another level.

His ability with voices and accents is first class.

The book covers Hitler's string of victories as well as explaining how the US was drawn into the war.

Then the book slows down as the Americans learn the hard way about fighting in this modern war.

Now, I haven't recommended this book before, even though I've listened to it twice, because for the longest time it was a two-credit book.

You don't really need to know what that means, but what it comes down to is you couldn't have got it for free when you signed up for a free 30-day trial.

But now that some time has passed and he's come out with other books in the series, you can.

Also, he's done books on World War One and the Civil War, and trust me, all of his writing is amazing.
