Summary

In this episode I'm by former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein on the release of his autobiography, 'Calling the shots'. We talk about the book itself, the formation of the Premier League, his departure from Arsenal, Stan Kroenke and Alisher Usmanov, his relationship with Arsene Wenger and lots more. We also have three copies of the book to give away in a competition.

The show begins with Tim Stillman to talk about the October fixture pile-up, Marquinhos, and a look ahead to a brand new season for Arsenal Women.

Under normal circumstances we will be talking today about whatever happened in the Europa League game against PSV last night.

2:13.0

It was scheduled to take place last night, but of course, because of everything that's going on in the UK and London, in particular at the moment, that game was postponed. It has been rearranged for mid-October where the Manchester City game in the Premier League was supposed to be, but that game, of course, will have to be rescheduled at some point in 2023.

As I said, though, we're going to chat about the few bits and Bob's regarding arsel and of course the arsel women season kicks off tonight Friday 16th of September and who better to give us some low down on that among the other stuff.

3:37.0

Van Tim still man, hello Tim. Hello there. We will get to the arsel women in due time, but there's a couple of bits and pieces.

3:44.0

There's a few bits and pieces that I just wanted to talk about before we did that. Ben White, not in the England squad for the upcoming nation's league games. And I wondered if it was an injury or something like that, but Andrew Allen told me hasn't been in the last two squads.
