All right, before we get to today's podcast, I wanted to quickly address what's going on in our society.

0:09.0

My instinct has typically been to stay in my lane, you know, to not really talk about things I don't really know about, not to just spout off opinions on everything, but in this specific spot, I don't think staying silent is necessarily the right thing for me when I have this

0:25.7

platform. It's sad man it's really hard to watch the George Floyd murder video. Obviously we have a long way to go in our country when it comes to

0:36.4

police brutality and how minorities are treated by some police. Like we have to solve it. I don't think I have a lot to contribute to the

0:46.8

Solution, but I do think empathy and

1:35.0

Like you work hard, you're smart, you play well, you're going to win in the long run.

1:39.4

You know, there will be a ton of variance in luck along the way, but in end it's earned and that makes sense to me but I didn't earn

1:46.4

the right to never have to worry about clean water to get a good education to never worry about the cops treating me

1:52.4

unjustly I was just born into that.

1:55.0

So if we zoom out and think hell, I just ran incredibly hot

1:58.0

at the outset of my life, and it easily could have gone a different way

2:02.0

if I wasn't so lucky.

2:03.3

Well hopefully we can find you know real empathy and compassion for others
