Summary

Olympic gold medalists and beach volleyball team Alix Klineman and April Ross (a.k.a. The A-Team!) join Laughter Permitted to talk about the hilarious backstory of how they became partners (it involves Stagecoach and an errant text), the moment they knew their partnership could work and how their shared perfectionist mentality is effective for them. Recorded live at the espnW Women + Sports Summit, Alix and April also breakdown why they hug between every point during matches. Plus find out what comedian Amy Schumer DMd Alix before the gold medal match in Tokyo.

So good to actually be around people again, which was fun, and they're always fun, and to get to do a podcast live, our guests for this one are the A-Team.

1:44.2

As in April Ross and Alex Kleinman. They are, if you don't know this already, you should. If you were around this summer, you saw them win Olympic gold in Beach volleyball where they absolutely rocked it in Tokyo.

2:00.5

April also played in one two national championships during her time at the University of Southern California. This was her third Olympics. She won silver in 2012.

2:12.5

Bronze and Rio, but this was the first Olympics with her partner Alex Kleinman. And Alex was an all-American at the fine institution of Stanford University.

2:23.2

Made her transition to Beach after having played many years with the US Indoor volleyball team. But Beach volleyball was how she would get to her first Olympics in Tokyo.
