So I don't know anything about the laws around curfews.

But I will tell you that the experience of living exactly here felt a lot like what I've read about in like basic counterinsurgency manuals.

Like they took the center, they took the center of the city where they had the like

nerve center of their police command of control and the mayor's office and all that bullshit.

And they cleared it 100% overnight that night. And then they set up a cordon.

And they have limited access to two single surface streets into and out of that cordon with

100% ID checks for a week. Damn. Which I got to experience for the, I got to have my ID check Tuesday night. And it's like, it's some, you know, and I don't know what everybody's experience is like going through those checks. When I went through it, which was manned by National Guardsman and then they had Chicago PD checking the IDs um when i went through it like we

you know he looked at my ID like it was me and hana who clearly live like you know inside the zone

and then uh one of her friends who lives also inside the zones they just like looked at it and

were like fine they're like where are you going uh and we said we're dropping her off and then going

home and that was enough for them.

But, you know, we were three white people in college educated and driving a car that's

only four years old, like five years old, whatever.

Like, I don't know what it's like for everybody trying to get through that,
