Today we kick off a series where we travel the U.S. and pop in at some of our biggest and busiest cities, and meet up with some of their hometown old-time radio detectives. The first stop on our trip is New York,

and we've got three radio mysteries set in the Big Apple. First, we've got Dick Powell as

Richard Diamond Private Detective.

We'll hear him in an episode known as the Gene Cooper case, or the Central Park Hit and Run.

It originally aired on NBC on August 29, 1949.

Then it's Detective Danny Clover of Broadway Is My Beat and the Joan Fuller murder case, originally aired on CBS on November 17th,

1950. And finally, we'll hear an episode of 21st Precinct, with Everett Sloan as police captain

Frank Cannelly. This one aired on CBS on July 17, 1954.
