Summary

This episode is unlike any I’ve done before! I’m out in the field with Bo, our EcoTour Adventures Wildlife Guide in Grand Teton National Park.  We saw bears and other wildlife with him, and he graciously said yes when I asked if I could interview him!  He’s bringing all the wisdom of a nature guide who not only interacts with animals but deals with all of the people on his tours. You might be surprised! This is what a professional wildlife guide learns about human beings. Class is in session. Let’s get curious! . . . . . Heading to the Tetons? Hello, human school fam. Carlos Whitaker here. So excited about this week's episode because it is truly unlike

0:41.3

any episode I've ever done before. You guys know that normally I love to bring you interviews

0:46.1

of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, living extraordinary lives, working extraordinary

0:51.3

jobs. And most of the time, actually all the time, I've had to do that either on Riverside

0:57.3

platform, on Zoom, maybe once I did it like in a podcast studio.

1:03.9

But today I get to do it out in the field.

1:07.5

Because today we have Bo, who is our eco-tore adventure wildlife guide here in Grand

1:15.1

Teton National Park. And we were actually able to go out and see Bear 610 with him. We were actually

1:20.9

able to go out and see so much wildlife today. And on the way back, I thought to myself, he had so much

1:26.6

knowledge about wildlife. I wonder what he

1:29.0

could teach us about humans. I wonder what he can teach us about how to interact with people.

1:34.5

He's a guide, which means he's got to be like half psychologist, half therapist, you know,

1:39.3

and he actually has to deal with the emotions of humans every day that have such high expectations that he can maybe

1:45.2

just click on a button and release a grizzly bear. Well, that's not the case. So I thought,

1:50.0

let's lean into that. So today we've got a 30-minute conversation where I get to literally

1:54.8

lean into all of the things that a professional wildlife guide can learn about human beings. And I'm so excited to bring

2:03.5

that to you. So sit back and enjoy this really unique perspective. And if you're watching on

2:08.8

YouTube or on Spotify, you actually get to see us out in the field when we run across a black bear.

2:14.0

It's going to be so cool. Bo meet the human school family. Human school family. Meet

2:20.1

Bo. Pham, I'm in the car with Bo. This is Bo. This is Bo. Bo has just taken, Heather, actually, I'm going to give this to you. And I need you to explain what has happened.
